Privacy policy

Last updated: [DATE]

This privacy policy explains how Rewilding Switzerland handles personal data when you visit this website or contact us. We process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Who is responsible

Rewilding Switzerland, [STREET AND NUMBER], [POSTCODE] [TOWN], Switzerland. Email: info@rewildingswitzerland.ch

2. What data we collect and why

  • Visiting the website: our hosting provider automatically records technical data such as your IP address, browser type, the pages visited and the time of access. This is needed to deliver the website securely and is deleted after a short period.
  • Contact and membership forms: when you write to us or apply to join the Swiss Rewilding Network, we process the details you enter (such as name, email, organisation and message) to respond and to manage the network.
  • Newsletter: if you subscribe, we use your email address to send our newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email.
  • Email: if you email us, we process your message and contact details to reply.

We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising.

3. Services we use

  • Infomaniak Network SA (Geneva, Switzerland): website hosting and email. Data is stored in Switzerland.
  • Google (Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC, USA): website translation (Google Translate, via GTranslate) and web fonts (Google Fonts). When you use these, your browser connects to Google servers and transmits your IP address and, for translation, the page content. Google may process data outside Switzerland, including in the USA.
  • [NEWSLETTER PROVIDER]: sending our newsletter. [Remove this point if you do not use a newsletter.]

Where data is transferred to countries without an adequate level of data protection, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses, or on certifications such as the Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework.

4. Cookies and local storage

This website uses only technically necessary storage: a cookie and a browser setting that remember your chosen language. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

5. How long we keep data

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by law. Contact messages are deleted when they are no longer needed; newsletter data is deleted when you unsubscribe.

6. Your rights

You have the right to request information about the personal data we hold about you, and to have it corrected or deleted. You can object to processing and withdraw your consent at any time. To do so, contact us at info@rewildingswitzerland.ch. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or, if you are in the EU, with your local data protection authority.

7. Changes

We may update this privacy policy when our website or services change. The current version is always published on this page.
